About Donald
T. Walters, DDS
Dr. Walters was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. His schooling has included: Lowell Elementary, Fairhaven Middle School, Sehome High School, Western WA University, Pacific Lutheran University as well as the University of Washington Dental School, graduating in 1995. In 1997 Dr. Walters returned to Bellingham, where he opened Southside Dental Care, Inc. P.S. in Fairhaven. Healthcare seems to run in his blood. Dr. Walter’s mother is a retired pediatric nurse and his father a retired Anesthesiologist. He has two brothers; one practices dentistry in Georgia and the other followed in their father’s footsteps and is an Anesthesiologist here locally.

Dr. Walters loves his profession and does it extremely well. His gentle nature, caring personality, and enthusiasm for life are unparalleled. “I find this profession fascinating. It’s an amazing way to spend the day. I get to listen, educate, talk and I love working with my hands creating little models.” He enjoys the many different things dentistry incorporates from biomedical engineering to physiology and biophysics to material
science. Dr. Walters is often asked about retirement and he can honestly say he plans to do this for another 20 years, in fact, most days he enjoys it so much he already feels retired. “For the life of me I can’t understand why more people don’t go into dentistry.”

He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, The Mount Baker District Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

When not at the office, he spends his free time road biking, playing tennis, going on long distance trail runs and fine woodworking, which he considers a lot like dentistry just on a bigger scale. Some of his best weekends have been attending classes at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking.
“I am fortunate beyond belief; a job I love, a staff that is a true team, amazing patients and located in Fairhaven… It doesn’t get any better than this.”
The health and safety of our patients and staff is always a top priority.
We do ask that you continue to wear a mask while in our office and contact us if you are not feeling well.
We look forward to seeing you!

Amanda
RDA, CDA since 2018
As one of the dental assistants at SSDC, Amanda loves making people smile. After working retail, she wandered upon the dental assisting program at BTC. The typical dental schedule with 3-day weekends is what really drew her in, but within one quarter she fell in love. Since graduating on her birthday in 2013, this career has fulfilled her passion for helping people while assisting in providing a gentle, fun environment for everyone.
She grew up in Skagit County and can’t imagine living anywhere other than the PNW. When not working she loves adventuring outdoors and spending time with her son. They have a goal of visiting at least 22 WA State Parks in 2022!
Ginger
Office Manager since 2011
Ginger has been at SSDC since 2011 where she began working at the front desk. She enjoys interacting & educating patients on treatment options and insurance benefits. But the thing she enjoys the most is being part of an amazing dental family. You will normally find her in her office doing all the behind the scene things to keep the office running smoothly.

When at home she enjoys cooking, crafts and gardening and riding on the Harley, but most of all, she loves spending time with friends, her husband of 34 years their 2 children and 2 adorable dogs Bella and Richie.
Aaron
RDH since 2016
Aaron grew up in Eastern Washington. He graduated from Clark College outside of Portland, OR in 2004. He moved to Bellingham shortly afterward to be close to family. Aaron had the opportunity to take his wife and 4 children to live and work in Adelaide, South Australia from 2013 to 2016. He joined Southside Dental Care in September 2016.

With his professionalism, sense of humor and caring nature he ensure the patients are always comfortable and well taken care of. He takes the time to educate and makes sure all questions and concerns are addressed. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball.
Judy was born and raised in Southeast Idaho (along with Ginger 15 miles apart). She married her high school sweetheart and spent several years in Germany. When she returned to Idaho Falls she volunteered for the US Navy dental clinic where she learned the trade. Since starting her dental career in 1992 and has lived in different states and always worked as a dental assistant. She has always loved the dental field and enjoyed the technical side of things but with age comes a career move that placed her front and center at the front desk. She absolutely enjoys our patients and always has a smile to welcome them into our practice. Her previous dental assisting experience and knowledge is invaluable, you may even see her in the back assisting on the rare occasion.
She enjoys spending time with her son, daughter and 3 grandkids. In her spare time she enjoys time on the back of her husbands Harley.
